why? If you are one of my friends with whom I have confided in lately that I want new towels I am here to share with you that I bought new towels. Ok this may sounds like a really mundane topic but it has been consuming me a bit lately. I have had the same towels for about 6 years and some of them are as old as maybe 10 years. But they are all perfectly fine and good and usable towels. Sure, maybe one or two is worn a bit here or there. But they really are good and function as they should. I have been wanting new towels but have not been able to justify the purchase because it seems frivolous to buy new towels when what I have works great.
The other day, I did it. I bit the bullet and bought some new towels. Nice, fluffy, beautiful color, that matches my bathroom nicely. But what do I do with the old towels? Because I still consider them good, usable, great towels. But I put them in a box and there they sat.
Then I saw this posted at my church - Small Steps Nurturing Center- for inner city kids- needs gently used towels. I am so excited, I found the perfect home for my towels. They are all boxed up and ready to go.
Again- this is part of my 365 transition. To work on minimizing my consumption. I only bought 4 new towels but look at how many I am getting rid of. Who can use all these towels? Small Steps can!
By the way- this is why I have a hard time de-cluttering, because I become emotional and debate about something like getting rid of perfectly good towels. So I challenge you, is there something in your life that is draining the life out of you that you should get rid of? Let it go... you may be surprised where you will find your answer to prayers....
