why? I may be providing too much information. But, I can be a wee bit cluttered. I don't like it about myself. But it is something I really need to practice at. And practice hard. It doesn't come naturally to me and my right side, creative side, always wins out and takes over my left side, my organized side. I loved to be organized and clean when I can. I look at magazines like REAL SIMPLE and think- I want to be like that. But it is like fitting a square peg into a round hole, I don't always know the best practices to get there. At the beginning of the year, I tool some before photos of areas of my life I wanted to "clean out" and declutter as a before and after. Of course I will have to take an after, after photo in a few months to make sure I can continue with the tidy.
So Sunday- I tackled the bookshelf in the before. Of course that photo was taken earlier this year- but trust me- not much had changed. BUT, I couldn't do it alone. I enlisted the help of Krissy Bertrand of http://simplysortit.com/
She was great and very helpful and we knocked it out together. She wasn't too hard on me and of course helped coach me with some best practices. I am an emotional person, I tie emotions to things. And she is not. We laughed. She was realistic. I have a cleaning and organizing bug going on again. I hope to keep this up. And of course if you have some areas of your life that need help you should call Krissy!
One disclaimer: please don't judge me for my clutter- but applaude me for trying! It was a personal victory this week. NOW, I need to list the bookshelf and table on Craigslist - they are for sale. Do you know anyone who needs them? I figure if they are not around- I can't clutter them.. He he he he

The shelf and table in front had become a catch all. I know it is bad. But it was just what happened. |
