day 341: master bath

why? this was an amazing remodel, they even knocked out a wall to grow the size of the master. Such a great idea. Once again I caught this mid construction but the outcome is amazing.

day 338: closet

subject: closet
why? This closet is an inspiration to me. In a small space, they did so much and I love how everything has a place.

before: it is taking shape, I wish I saw it before the transformation started

After: what an awesome closet

day 336: full frame

subject: bathroom remodel
why?  yesterday I shared this bathroom remodel but something else I wanted to share is that I am now photographing interiors with my Canon 5D Mark II which is awesome.  Using my wide angle lens and this full frame camera, I can really get a lot of the room when I stand in such a tight space.

Before: though I can get a good amount of this image, you can barely see the base of the toilet

After: with the wide angle lens I can see the whole toilet and the door is open. It makes the bathroom look huge

before: I can only capture the shower stall

after: I can capture the stall and the toilet roo

after: a good view of the whole vanity, this would not have been possible with my previous camera

day 335: remodel

subject: bathroom remodel

why? As you may know, I love remodeling interiors. Not that I do it myself all the time, I just love talking to people about ideas, dreaming up designs, seeing the transitions. I love architecture, I love photographing interiors. I like things that look beautiful, or look personable and warm, I like clean lines. I can appreciate styles that aren't my personal taste but look fantastic.  I had the opportunity to sneak into this home in the process of their remodel. Unfortunately, I didn't quite get the rooms before they were torn apart. But you will definitely get the picture. This is a bathroom remodel that was actually formerly the laundry room and this young family turned it into a guest bath, perfect with a back door out to the patio where they have a pool.  It is very functional.  The finished result it great!

before: this was just an empty space but the cabinet make started to frame in the vanity

after: wow, right?

day 332: a matter of perspective

subject: the bench
why? There is a local establishment that I visit. I do love the decor. I love this bench and wall. The before is my walking towards the back of the establishment. The after is my walking back to the front of the establishment. Maybe this is more like coming and going. Regardless, I love the wall paper and then to pair it with the plaid table? it is very 70's to me.

day 249: can you spot the differences?

subject: editing
why? Often times I get the request to do a little editing. When it is something like a home interior, it is no big deal and someone isn't shy to ask. Of course when it comes to a portrait there is always the feigned laughter, can you fix up the photo??... ha ha ha, "but no seriously, can you fix it?" The answer is always of course or else I can certainly try. Obviously as a photographer if it is within your control, you would rather have caught the problem to begin with but in cases like bumps, scratches, and scrapes there is nothing you can really do except take the photo and try and fix it later. Well, this has nothing to do with a portrait, but it does have to do with fixing the photo.

Can you spot the minor edits? THIS ONE IS Tricky because it is not just the cord.

day 235: interior

subject: the sitting area
why? This home had an amazing sitting area, I just wanted to sit down and read my book. I loved the area anyway, and then they lit the fire. I thought- how cozy. Again, the owner and designers did such an amazing job creating a "space" that was so inviting.

Interesting what a little fire can do.

day 234: interiors

subject: gorgeous dining room
why? The other day I had the honor of photographing this gorgeous home. The interior designers were there like little bee's shuffling things around as I photographed it. I was so impressed with their abilities and their work. This is the dining room photo before, and then After they moved a few things. I absolutely love the light above the dining table.

I want to eat dinner here.

I think this is a much more interesting perspective of the dining room.
