day 352: Comic Con

subject: Predator (s)
why? So, other than having a nice weekend away with my husband in New Orleans, we went to go to Comic Con. Though I am sure New Orleans Comic Con pales in comparison to the one in San Diego, I know it is a show he has always wanted to go to. I got him tickets as a Christmas gift. Off we went.

Before: guess what it is?

After: that is right- a predator from the move Predator

Here are a few images of other interesting things/ people I saw at this convention.  I did see a lady selling jewelry- she was right up my alley.

day 350: man hole

subject: man hole covers
why? Last month we were in New York City and I got us all to stand around the NYC manhole cover. It was myself, my son, my husband, his brothers girlfriend, and my brother in-law.  In New Orleans it was just myself and my husband. NYC and NOLA are similar in some ways. In each city you are a stones throw away from incredible food. In both cities we do a lot of walking. They are both old cities. And there is so much more. I think the photo of the man hole cover needs to be done wherever we go now.

day 349: I wish those cars weren't there

subject: red building
why? we parked in the French Quarter and I have to admit, it can be such a charming place. When you don't see someone yaking or peeing in the street. I love the old buildings, the color, the brick, the wooden doors, the rod iron, the ornate details. I love how one building can look so different from the next. I loved this building but I was not so thrilled to have all the cars in the shot. But I took it anyway. Luckily, when we went to leave, some cars had moved and I had a chance to capture the cool red building.

day 348: night and day

subject: Palace Cafe
why? This was one of the first photos I took upon arriving in New Orleans. It was across the street from our hotel. And it just looked like a lively kind of place. I suppose I really just loved the name in lights.  Then it so happened as we were driving out of town, I rolled down the window and got one last picture of the Palace Cafe.

day 347: now where did I put my pants?

subject: fire house
why?  We were walking in the French Quarter and passed this fire house. I wanted to take a picture of the engine, but when I got closer. I realized, where they put their pants was much more interesting. It cracked me up!

before: the fire engine

after: a close up of where they leave their pants, ready to go in case of an emergency I suppose

day 345: service

subject: cafe' du monde
why? We had a date weekend getaway. It was nice. One of our first stops upon arriving in New Orleans was of course the infamous Cafe Du Monde. All other times I have been to this place, there has been a line out the door.  Tonight however, there was no line, we walked right in and sat down. However, we waited, and waited and waited before anyone took our order. Meanwhile, every where I looked the help was sitting down.  The first photo was taken when we arrived. The Before. Then I turned around and saw another gathering of folks. And then in the after, the same place as the before photo, but look how many people took their break. The times are listed. And might I add, we still hadn't gotten our beignets. By the way, I just wanted to take lifestyle snapshots. An evening in the life at Cafe Du Monde.
